Education

I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Tech University in the area of Social Work. I earned my Masters Degree in Special Education from Western Kentucky University In May 2011.

Experience

I received my degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Work. I have worked with children and adults with Developmental Disabilities, as well as children and youth in Therapeutic Foster Care for approximately twelve years. I am a true advocate for individuals with disabilities. I have always had a passion for teaching. In 2009, I decided to return to school through the Alternative Route to Certification program to obtain my certification to teach. I taught 6th grade Special Education for one year before moving to HES to work with students. This year, I work with students in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th grade. I truly love working with kids and love my job!

Bio

I was born and raised in Tennessee. I lived there until I married my husband, Greg, in 2006. We have six children. Rachael is a sophomore in college this year at Lindsey Wilson College and will be playing soccer for them. Jonah and Hannah are Sophomore at BCHS. Jonah plays saxophone for the Tiger Marching Band and Hannah plays soccer. Isaac, Abby, and Rebekah are at BCMS. Isaac is an 8th grader who enjoys playing pit instruments in the band. Isaac will be playing up in the BCHS Marching Band this school year. Abby and Bekah are also in the BCMS band. In addition to staying busy with my family, I enjoy working with my youth group at church. My husband is the pastor at Hardinsburg United Methodist Church and Talbert Chapel, so we are very active with church-related activities. My family has lived in Hardinsburg since 2008. We love it here and have made Breckinridge County our home.
