We close out an awesome week, with only four busy days of school left in this school year.  Wow!! Where does time go? Our 4th graders finished their K-PREP on Monday, and 5th graders finished up their testing on Tuesday.  Our students put forth their best effort, and we are confident they did a great job!

Today was our second annual HES PTO walk-a-thon, and it was a big success. We were able to have someone walking around our walking track from 8:00 this morning until 2:00 this afternoon. Many times throughout the day we would have over 70 students, teachers, and parents all walking to help support our PTO. In total, we estimate we collectively walked close to 400 miles today. A huge thank you to our business sponsors who helped make today’s walk-a-thon a success.  Also, a special thank you to our students, parents, and staff for the hard work in collecting over $5,400. This is at least $500 more than last year. Congratulations to Mrs. Whitworths’ class for winning the ice cream party by collecting over $482.

I want to thank our parents for supporting this very important endeavor and for coming out to join their children. We had a great turnout of parents, and your participation helps us promote health and wellness, while at the same time support our students and PTO. Our PTO is working hard to help build playground enhancements at our new school, along with helping to get chromebooks in the hands of our students. Plus, we always love it when our parents and stakeholders are able to participate in our programs and activities. Today was definitely one of those very special and memorable days in the life of our school. Again, thank you to all who supported today’s event with your support and participation.

When we return to school on Monday, we will turn our attention to our end of year activities. Please mark your calendars for the important events below:

Monday, May 20--HS/PS graduation 9:00

Monday, May 20--K-2 awards 1:00

Wednesday, May 22--3rd-4th awards 9:00

Wednesday, May 22--5th grade awards 12:30
